Billy Smith: The person Elvis reportedly said his last words to. As he was walking to the bathroom, Elvis said something to his girlfriend, Ginger Alden, about not being able to sleep and going to the bathroom to “read.” As Ginger and others understood it, this meant Elvis was about to take more prescription drugs. However, his last words while in the bathroom were to his first cousin and assistant, Billy Smith. Elvis reportedly said, “Billy, son, this is going to be our best tour ever,” referring to his upcoming series of concerts.

Captain Marvel, Jr.: Elvis was a huge fan of him in his younger years. It is believed that Elvis modeled his “signature” look after the superhero, including his hair, sideburns, and his late-era caped jumpsuits. He even adopted Captain Marvel, Jr.’s lightning bolt symbol as his unofficial logo. As of lately, the writers of the more recent Captain Marvel, Jr. comics have returned the favor by modeling a character called King Marvel after Elvis, and also by having Captain Marvel, Jr. refer to Elvis as the “greatest modern-day philosopher.”
